K-12 academic standards in Math and ELA adopted by 41 states and DC, defining what students should know at each grade level.
The Common Core State Standards (CCSS) are a set of academic standards in mathematics and English Language Arts/Literacy released in 2010 by the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers. They define what students should know and be able to do at each grade level from K-12. As of 2026, 41 states plus DC have adopted them in some form, while Texas (TEKS), Florida (B.E.S.T.), and Virginia (SOL) have their own standards.
Common Core defines the assessment landscape for two-thirds of US students. State tests, teacher evaluations, district report cards, and curriculum adoption all flow from CCSS in adopting states.
Worksheet Generator natively understands Common Core codes. Type a code (e.g., 'CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.OA.A.1') and the generated worksheet will target that standard specifically. The teacher PDF cites the standard in the header.
