Worksheet Generator is committed to ensuring that our worksheet creation tools are accessible to all educators, regardless of ability. We strive to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across every public page and interactive feature.
What we do to support accessibility
- Keyboard navigation: Every interactive element -- buttons, links, form controls, and the command palette -- is reachable and operable via keyboard alone.
- Skip-to-content link:A “Skip to main content” link appears on focus at the top of every page for screen reader and keyboard users.
- Screen reader support: Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), ARIA labels, and live regions provide meaningful context for assistive technology.
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio against their backgrounds.
- Zoom and text scaling: The viewport allows up to 5x zoom (WCAG requirement). All text scales with browser font-size settings.
- Focus indicators: Visible focus rings appear on all interactive elements, using the
#4A6FA5 brand color. - Alt text: All informational images include descriptive alternative text. Decorative images use empty
alt="" or aria-hidden. - Reduced motion: Animations respect the user’s
prefers-reduced-motion system setting. - PDF accessibility: Exported worksheet PDFs use structured headings, readable fonts (Times-Roman), and high contrast black-and-white formatting.
Differentiated instruction accommodations
Every worksheet includes built-in accommodation toggles for IEP, 504, and ELL students:
- Simplified language with high-frequency vocabulary
- Sentence starters for constructed-response items
- Word banks for fill-in and short-answer questions
- Visual supports and bilingual (Spanish) glosses
- Extended time recommendations in directions
Known limitations
We are continuously improving accessibility. Some areas where we are actively working:
- Complex data tables in generated worksheets may not have fully programmatic headers in all export formats.
- Third-party integrations (Stripe checkout, Google OAuth) follow their own accessibility standards.
